Snoopys Adventure

3 days after amputationA year and a half ago my son Tyler began to beg me about getting a dog.  So off to the humane society we went.  This is where we both fell in love with a wonderful dog named Snoopy. Snoopy had been born in the shelter and then adopted out but was brought back a year later because his family couldnt afford to keep him anymore.  So Snoopy came home with us! He was a wonderful addition to our little family! He and Tyler became best friends and he became my second child! Snoopy loves to run and swim and give tons of kisses! But one bad thing about Snoopy is he likes to chase moving vehicles!! I think he thinks he can catch the wheels!!  On October 15 2010(the day before my birthday) I was on my way home from work when I got a phone call from my mom who was babysitting Tyler and Snoopy. It was one of those pit of the stomack phone calls where you could tell just by the tone of her voice something had god horribly wrong.  She said snoopy got hit by a truck and to meet her at the vet. Poor Snoopy had shattered his left front humerous bone. The vet said they were going to call around and send out xrays to see if they could find a vet to fix it or if worse came to worse they were going to have to amputate. Unfortunatly when Snoopy got hit it was a Friday evening so we had to wait until Monday morning to find out what we were going to have to do.  That was the longest weekend ever!! We got the phone call that Monday morning and got the bad news.. Snoopy had to have that leg amputated there was nothing anyone can do. We were worried sick! But then I did a little research and found the tripawds web site and it was suck a relief knowing that everything was going to be okay. And leaning that even though he only had three legs it didn’t mean it was going to slow him down! Its been a rocky 2 and a half weeks but we have our same old Snoopy back!!!!  He even tried to chase the 4-wheeler tires the other day!! I guess he hasn’t learned! But what I don’t get is why he will chase vehicles still but is afraid of the vacume!

Welcome Snoopy! Please don’t chase any more cars. You had 3 legs and a spare, but now you’ve used up your spare.

We need photos! What type of dog are you? Glad to hear you are feeling so much better and getting along so well.
